This 2,000+ m² project was a new build for a Special Free School in Croydon for children and young people with autism and learning difficulties.

Addington Valley Academy is a co-educational Special School with 150 places for children and young people aged 2-19 who have autism and social communication, cognitive, sensory and social, emotional, and behavioural needs in the Croydon region.

Valcan’s A1 non-combustible cladding systems were reviewed and after working closely with the architects on the project, Ceramapanel was specified installed back using our Vitrafix VF1 carrier system and colour matched fixing solutions.

About Vitrafix

Vitrafix is an aluminium or stainless steel carrier system deemed non-combustible under the European Directive which provides a solution that allows a wide range of panels to be installed on any building from flat sheet systems through to cassette panels and secret install systems using undercut anchors.

For this project, face fixed installation was chosen and utilised the VF1 240mm bracket system, associated fixings and rivets colour matched to the 3 through coloured Cerampanel boards used.

About Ceramapanel

Ceramapanel is a 8mm, 10mm or 12mm compressed fibre cement panel which achieves A1 and A2 rating. It is a non-combustible panel which comes in a wide range of colours and finishes. The main advantage of this material is that it can be used anywhere due to its fire properties, this can be ground level buildings or high rise tower blocks.

Ceramapanel is a through coloured product which offers excellent sound proofing qualities and has options for anti-graffiti coatings and other natural stone textures

For Addington Valley, the architects chose to go with the Natural Textures Raw finish in the 1031 Charcoal, 1081 Hearth Brick and 1091 Cappuccino colours
