YMCA West Bromwich

YMCA is the oldest and largest youth charity in the world, set up by Sir George Williams in England in 1844. Across England and Wales, they run as a federation with 133 local YMCAs working independently to support young people to belong, contribute and thrive in their communities. While YMCAs work and respond locally, YMCA England acts as the national council, supporting each local charity within our federation and acting as a national voice with Government and decision makers. YMCA focuses on young people, helping them to play an active and fulfilling role within their communities. They call this their youth-minded community approach. They also provide a wide range of community-based activities and services to help meet local needs wherever they are based.

In addition, there are also 133 independent, local YMCAs spread across England and Wales and more than 100 YMCA charity shops. West Bromwich YMCA was part of a major regeneration project to revitalise the area around the town’s iconic Victorian Farley clock tower. Valcan were able to supply the mirror finished anodised Vitrabond panels with no MOQ’s and in the size required from stock. Valcan worked closely with the installer, Elite Aluminium Systems Ltd, and the fabricators, Kingdom Facades, to design the most effective way to install the panels; settling on a secret fix panel.
