Phase 2 report of the Grenfell Inquiry

The Phase 2 report of the Grenfell Inquiry has now been published.

Yesterday (4th Sept), Chairman Sir Martin Moore-Bick began by presenting the inquiry's findings regarding the tragic Grenfell Tower fire.

He noted that while some actions have already addressed identified failures, there is a pressing need for more substantial reforms to instigate "fundamental change" within the construction sector.

Among his recommendations:

• The establishment of a construction regulator to monitor all industry facets
• Consolidating fire safety responsibilities under one government department
• Implementation of mandatory fire safety strategies for high-risk buildings
• Creating a college dedicated to fire and rescue education
