The Edison and Davenport Court reclad project in Croydon involved the refurbishment of these residential buildings to improve safety and aesthetics. The project was initiated to replace non-compliant cladding ACM cladding, following updated building regulations introduced after the Grenfell Tower fire.
The recladding process involved removing the old cladding, installing new insulation, and fitting the new panels. This project aimed to ensure the buildings met current safety standards while also providing a modern and attractive exterior.
Architects Patrick Ryan Associates specified VitraDual A1 Aluminium Cladding panels in a rich Teak woodcreate finish.
These innovative panels were expertly fabricated by Valcan’s in-house fabrication team into an interlocking system, ensuring seamless connections for a flawless appearance that closely resembles real wooden surfaces. The installation was carried out by LCS Roofing and Cladding Ltd., showcasing their expertise in modern cladding solutions.
The completion of the recladding project significantly improves the buildings' safety and visual appeal. Residents can enjoy enhanced energy efficiency, durability, and a modern aesthetic. Moreover, they have peace of mind knowing their homes fully comply with stringent building regulations, providing assurance in both comfort and security for years to come.
