At Valcan, we are proud to have played a key role in one of the largest recladding projects outside of London: the transformative redevelopment of the West Point residential complex in central Leeds. This landmark scheme marks a significant step forward in delivering safer, fully compliant, and future‑proofed building façades across the UK, and we are honoured to support it through the supply of our high‑performance, A1classified non‑combustible cladding systems.

As part of this extensive project, Architects Enjoy Design specified over 10,000 m² of Valcan façade materials, including our industry‑leading VitraDual® A1 Aluminium Cladding and VitraNamel® non‑combustible Vitreous Enamel Panels. Both systems were specified by Architects Enjoy Design Ltd for their exceptional durability, fire‑safety credentials, and proven long‑term performance on high‑rise schemes.

VitraDual® is Valcan’s high‑performance, A1 non‑combustible aluminium rainscreen panel, engineered for rigidity, light weight, and outstanding impact and weather resistance. Enjoy Design specified VitraDual in Silver Metallic and Dark Grey, with panels fabricated into cassette formats to achieve clean, modern lines across the façade.

VitraNamel® is Valcan’s pre‑finished vitreous enamel cladding system, manufactured by fusing an ultra‑durable enamel coating onto a decarbonised steel substrate. Its exceptional resistance to weathering, impact, chemicals, and graffiti makes it an ideal solution for demanding, high‑traffic areas. For West Point, 260m²  panels were supplied in RAL 9006, again, fabricated into cassettes, and installed at the lower building levels to maximise long‑term resilience.

Our systems were expertly installed by Roofdec Ltd, whose high‑quality workmanship ensured the finished façade not only meets current building‑safety legislation but also delivers lasting visual and technical performance for residents.

The recladding programme was led by Main Contractor Caddick Construction, appointed to fully remove the original façade and replace it with new, compliant systems in response to the evolving regulatory landscape following the Grenfell Tower tragedy and the requirements introduced under the Building Safety Act 2022.

With the building remaining fully occupied throughout the works, Caddick and the wider project team approached the programme with exceptional care, consideration, and consistent communication - values that align closely with our own commitment to supporting safe, resident‑focused refurbishment.
