Emanuele Calabro – Director of Façade Consultancy, CBRE Turner & Townsend
Emanuele has joined CBRE Turner&Townsend, back in 2024, as Director of Façade Consultancy, part of the Technical Due Diligence team within Building Consultancy.
With over 12 years of experience within the industry, 10 years in main contracting with focus on Façade Engineering, including tendering and bid writing, pre-construction principles, systems selection, centralised procurement, design development, value engineering, buildability and sequence, Emanuele has a hands-on approach on R&D, MMC and DfMA.
He successfully liaises with clients, consultants and related disciplines involved in a typical D&B contract, including Architecture, Structure, MEP, Façade Engineering, Fire Engineering, Sustainability and Acoustics, as well as Local Authorities and Building Warranty Providers, ensuring the works are technically compliant with the current standards, contract documents and specifications.
He is supporting the growth of the Façade Consultancy Team, acting as London, Midland and South Lead, liaising transversally with all CBRE Turner & Townsend departments’ directors and managers, developing company police and procedures as well as implementing cooperation, interactions and information flows between different divisions.”

David Metcalfe – Director, CWCT (Centre for Window and Cladding Technology)
David Metcalfe is a physics graduate with a master’s degree in Façade Engineering. As Director of CWCT he is responsible for all the Centre’s technical and training output. He lectures extensively on building physics, glass and fire. Current work includes updating CWCT’s fire guidance and a new focus on sustainability, with CWCT providing key leadership in the area in relation to facades.
He is a board member of the Society of Façade Engineering responsible for Education and Membership, chairs the SFE Fire Committee and is a member of SFE Technical Committee.
Founded in 1989, the CWCT is now supported by over 400 member companies drawn from the broad spectrum of the industry, from clients and architects to contractors and manufacturers.
CWCT carries out training and produces technical standards and guidance documents on all aspects of façade engineering.
