Goodmans Fields is a giant redevelopment in the heart of East London’s Aldgate. The development from Berkeley homes offers a range of living opportunities and new commercial spaces including mixed apartments, commercial space, a hotel and student accommodation.
Valcan were contacted to supply façade cladding for the new student accommodations. The student accommodation was created to offer low cost housing opportunities for students living and studying in Central London. The architects and interior designers wanted to create a modern, fun space with plenty of colour.
The designers wanted to capture London’s, and Aldgate’s, particular vibe so a vibrant, but not ostentatious, cladding system was created. The areas around windows on the lower stories used gentle cladding whilst the top floors used large cladding systems to create a unique two-tiered look. The result is the stylish white façade with burnished windows to create this mottled effect.
Valcan worked with the architect to get Vitrabond certified for the project as they offered a great cost saving and range of colours delivered from stock.
