The 29km walk starts at Bath Racecourse, then the anticlockwise loop heads down past the Royal Crescent, and east along the River Avon trail to join the Limestone Link. Then up and into the countryside to pick up the famous Cotswold Way, and it’s around and back to the Racecourse.
Claire has been taking part in Ultra Challenges since 2014, which have included 100km challenges; London to Brighton, the Thames Path and the Isle of Wight. Since losing her father to Prostate Cancer 8 years ago, she has been taking part in aid of Prostate Cancer UK.
As well as completing eight 50km challenges in 2022, she has also organised her own 10km March for Men Charity Walk in Greenham Common, where our Newbury offices are based and Charity raffles with the help of local businesses in Berkshire – so far raising £3631 for Prostate Cancer UK.
Prostate Cancer UK is dedicated to fighting prostate cancer, the most common cancer in men. They focus on raising awareness, funding research, providing support and information to men diagnosed with prostate cancer and their families and they advocate for better healthcare policies and practices to ensure men receive the best possible care.
Claire says, “Prostate Cancer UK plays a vital role in the fight against prostate cancer. Not only do they raise funds for essential research, but they also challenge and dispel outdated myths about testing that sadly persist among men today! I wish my own dad had visited the doctor before it was too late, but maybe by supporting the charity and raising funds and awareness, it will help more men to be diagnosed early.”
The Bath Challenge, part of the Ultra Challenge series, takes place on Saturday the 29th of March. If you would like to sponsor Claire, visit the JustGiving Page: Claire Gould is fundraising for PROSTATE CANCER UK.
