The new Cardiff Bus Interchange, a major mixed-use project in the city centre, encompasses approximately 500,000 sq. ft of space. This development includes a 14-bay bus interchange with a covered concourse, 318 apartments for the Private Rented Sector, and around 90,000 sq. ft of modern open-plan office space.
BDP Architects, specified 320m2 of VitraDual A1 Aluminium panels in the Striking Power Red colour for the façade of the interior concourse and the north and south entrances - perfectly matching the colour palette of the established branding of Transport for Wales.
ISG, the main contractor on the project, employed CSW to install the panels, which were expertly fabricated by SBS Cladding into cassette panels. Installed using our VitraFix Aluminium Subframe system.
The completed result is a contemporary and visually appealing design that enhances the overall look of the new facility for Transport for Wales, providing a seamless and efficient transportation hub for the city.
VitraDual is a prefinished rainscreen panel designed to provide a non-combustible aluminium panel solution that can be fitted as both cassette panels and flat sheets with no oil-canning appearance offering a cost effective and aesthetically pleasing façade solution.
