As a new headquarters for a large integrated federal government agency the design of this four storey building is based upon two parallel wings of modular, flexible office space facing and overlooking a light-filled central atrium that has stairs and access to shared common facilities. The atrium provides formal and informal spaces for interaction including locations for a cafe, meeting rooms, break-out spaces and direct access to landscaped garden courtyards.
Numerous support facilities are provided at the lower levels including an 80m2 BTV studio and associated recording and control rooms. Structured car-parking for 720 vehicles is integrated with the loading dock and other comprehensive servicing facilities.
The Fairview Group were proud to be selected to supply their products Vitrabond and Vitranamel to clad this impressive building which is of great importance to the people of Australia.
The Architects, Guida Moseley Brown Architects, opted for Neutral colours from the Classico Express Range and then used Copper Metallic to accentuate the design.
