East Coast College, Lowestoft

The East Coast College on St Peters Street in Lowestoft was originally built in 1961 with the this 6 storey block being re-clad in 2014 using ACM panels. The facade underwent a re-clad and face lift in 2020 to update the facade to today’s building regulations and our A1 rated non-combustible panel VitraDual was chosen to meet the requirements along with joint closure trims and colour matched rivets from the Vitrafix range

In 2021 the project was shortlisted for “Best use of a rainscreen system using aluminium” in the RCI Facade Awards

VitraDual is a prefinished rainscreen panel designed to provide a non-combustible aluminium panel solution that can be fitted as both cassette panels and flat sheets with no oil-canning appearance offering a cost effective and aesthetically pleasing façade solution. VitraDual is BBA accredited, CWCT tested, A1 rated to BS EN 13501-1 and comes with lengthy product warranties
